Measuring Instructions
For 8-15, 12-16, and some 15-20 mmHg socks and stockings, all you'll need to determine your size is your shoe size. Full knee-high measuring instructions are below if needed.
Knee High Measuring Instructions
Ankle Measurement
1. Measure around your ankle (this measurement is called the circumference). Place the measuring tape at the narrowest part of the ankle, above the ankle bone.
Note: This must always be your first measurement |
 |
Calf Measurement
2. Find the widest part of your calf. Measure the circumference of your calf. |
 |
Calf Length
3. Sit on a chair with your legs at a 90-degree angle. Measure the distance from 1 finger below the bend in your knee to the floor. |

Q: What is a petite length? I have a full calf 19", but a 16" length from bent knee(back of leg) to the floor.
A: According to Jobst's size chart, petite length is for people with a leg length less than 15 inches. You want to be measuring your leg length from about where you want the stocking to sit on your leg down to the ground. If you are measuring from the bend of your knee, you are measuring too high. You do not want your stockings to come all the way up to the bend of your knee because that would be painful. Because not everyone measures from the correct spot on their legs, sometimes it is easier to take into consideration your height. Petite length is usually for those around 5'4 or 5'3 and shorter. If you need help determining which size stocking and which length stocking would be best for you, you can email us with your measurements at CSOrders@CompressionStockings.com
